Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for an Application Engineer (Wire Harness) at Cognizant LLC in Milwaukee, WI, with some flexibility for remote work.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Application Engineer (Automotive Wire Harness) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding customer technical requirements and coordinating all technical aspects of the project, from RFI/RFQ to production and post-production. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both Wire Harness design and manufacturing, electrical and/or mechanical engineering principles, enabling them to create efficient and effective solutions tailored to customer specific requirements. Experience in the automotive/transportation industry dealing with wire hardness products is a must.

Responsibilities:

· Understand customer project scope and activities invloved.

· Advise Central Engineering on the resource requirement

· Review design with Customer

· Gather preliminary information about upcoming ECN

· Coordinate Sample deliveries, Line trials, gathering trial feedback

· Mark up drawings and communicate with Engineering and other team in India

· Coordinate sample rework/modification and prototype build in the warehouse

· Support 3D design and Electrical Design team, review design and advise for design improvement and optimization

· Propose MCL components at Design stage and for VAVE

· Diagnose vehicle level problem and take corrective action

· Travel to various customer locations as required

Skills:

· CATIA V5, (EI2, EHF, HD2 Modules) / UG NX / Creo/Capital Logic/ Harness XC

· TCE (Team Centre Engineering) / PLM data management System

· Working knowledge of APQP, DFMEA, DVP

· Vehicle Assembly process (EDS installation)

· Good communication skills and initiative

· Willing to work on-site at customer location for extended duration & flexible for short team deputation on a short notice

· Prior practical design / development experience at OEM is preferred.

Educational Qualifications and Work Experience:

· B.E. (Mechanical / Electrical)

· 5 years minimum in Automotive OEM / Automotive Tier-I (wiring harness) / Engineering Design/Services in automotive electrical system.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
