Location (Onsite) : Cincinnati, Ohio

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design and Implement Tests : Create and execute comprehensive test cases for APIs based on software requirements and user needs.
• Execute Test Cases : Run API test cases, analyze results, and identify defects or issues.
• Identify and Track Defects : Report and track API defects, inconsistencies, and performance issues.
• Collaborate with Developers : Work closely with developers to fix and improve problematic APIs.
• Develop Testing Tools : Create tools, frameworks, and methodologies to ensure effective API testing.
• Understand API Documentation : Use API documentation to create appropriate test cases.
• Validate Data : Ensure that API endpoints send and retrieve data as expected.
• Integrate Testing with Development : Ensure API testing is integrated with software build and deployment processes.
• Check Security Measures : Identify vulnerabilities or weaknesses in API security.
• Provide Feedback : Offer recommendations to developers about API design, usability, and functionality

Required Qualifications

Proven experience as an API Tester or similar role in software development.

Strong knowledge of API testing tools such as ReadyAPI, Postmann & SoapUI.

Familiarity with software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Salary and Other Compensation :

The annual salary for this position is between $ 53,477 to 92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
