Job Summary
An ADMS Configuration Manager is responsible for maintaining and managing the configuration of systems within an Active Directory Management Services (ADMS) environment ensuring consistency compliance and accurate data by tracking changes setting policies and monitoring system configurations across all managed devices often utilizing tools like Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM).
Responsibilities
Maintaining the CMDB with accurate information about all configuration items (CIs) within the ADMS environment including hardware software network settings and user accounts.
Creating and enforcing configuration policies across the ADMS environment to ensure consistent system settings and security compliance.
Managing changes to system configurations through a change control process including reviewing change requests testing updates and deploying changes to production systems.
Regularly auditing system configurations against established compliance standards to identify deviations and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
Utilizing the ADMS platform to deploy software updates and patches to managed devices in a controlled manner.
Managing the entire lifecycle of devices from provisioning to decommissioning including configuration updates and settings throughout.
Generating reports on system configuration status compliance levels and potential issues to identify areas for improvement.
Investigating and resolving configuration-related issues that may arise on managed systems.
Managing user permissions and access levels within the ADMS environment to ensure data security.
Expertise in Active Directory Management Services (ADMS) and its functionalities
Strong understanding of configuration management principles and best practices
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell) for automated configuration tasks
Knowledge of network infrastructure and security concepts
Experience with SCCM or similar configuration management tools
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
