The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 – $135,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.

Job Details
- Design, develop and maintain core data architectural constructs with a special focus on elements of Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake and Databricks platforms.
- Communicate critical technical choices, specify requirements and constraints for design and implementation.
- Advise on deployment options for new features and components, assessing if rollout plans are safe, progressive, and reversible.
- Design and validate solutions that are practical, flexible, scalable, reusable, and strategic
- Lead the development of generally applicable methods, procedures, and deliverables.
- Present, discuss, and walk through the merits of the solutions recommendations with technical leads, project managers and data engineers.
- Institute, lead the adoption and ensure adherence to the best practices and standards, to improve the quality of the deliverables.
- Research, evaluate, and select from existing and emerging technologies the options best fitting project needs.
- Manage daily technical challenges and communicate with project management if there are any risks or issues.
- Stay abreast of the latest technologies and tools being used to improve development of data products and delivery.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience designing and developing data solutions in both Azure and Databricks.
- Proven experience as a Data Architect designing and implementing new data solutions in Microsoft Azure platform.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps.
- Excellent understanding of data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g., dimensional modeling, star schema, data vault, medallion architecture, etc.).
- Experience with designing and developing data solutions using technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, Dremio, Spark, Hadoop or Kafka.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
- Expert knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and frameworks, batch, real-time and near real-time loads.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python and Spark.
- Familiarity with designing data products for consumption by .Net applications, APIs or analytical solutions, such as Power BI.
- Proven ability to leverage components like Azure Automation, Azure Power Shell Scripting, AZ Copy, Azure DevOps, ARM Templates.
- Ability to visualize and create high-level models (rigorous information-rich diagrams).
- Ability to work with different points-of-view and lead the team to convergence, while always keeping the project objectives in sight.
- Excellent personal organization skills and ability to take things to closure without follow-ups.
