Title:

Entry-Level Software Developer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement assigned features and functionalities within existing applications.

• Collaborate with senior developers to understand project requirements and translate them into functional code.

• Write unit tests to ensure code quality and functionality.

• Debug and troubleshoot coding issues.

• Adhere to coding standards and best practices.

• Learn and stay updated with new libraries and frameworks.

• Assist with code reviews and documentation.

• Participate in Agile development methodologies.

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of Python programming language syntax and core concepts.

• Strong understanding of Java (or similar) programming language syntax and core concepts.

• Familiarity with data structures and design patterns

• Basic knowledge of object-oriented programming

• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)

• Experience with pipelines and

• Ability to learn new technologies quickly

• Located in the EST or CST time zones

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field

• Experience with Python frameworks (e.g., Flask)

• Experience with data science projects

• Basic knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)

• Basic knowledge of API development

• Experience with databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)

  • The annual salary for this position is between $75K – $84K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
    This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
