Lead DevOps Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth and reliable deployments.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize infrastructure for scalability and efficiency.
- Manage cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and ensure high availability and security.
- Implement and maintain configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Develop and maintain scripts for automation using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for production systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Understanding of network protocols and security best practices.
- Certification in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).

The annual salary for this position is between $68,422 – $114,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
