The Role:
Cognizant is looking for an experienced and innovative Lead Java Engineer with 15 years of experience to serve our diverse base of global clients. As a member of our team, you will build cutting edge, cloud-based software that powers modern business. An ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a diverse, collaborative, geographically distributed team. Similarly, the ideal candidate is an expert engineer who values the “team”, drives continuous improvement and is unafraid to challenge the legacy status quo with creative cloud-based solutions.
Location: New York, NY
Responsibilities:
- Must be familiar with distributed system architecture, must be able to understand enterprise architecture, must be good with application design & solution design
- Associate should have strong hands-on development skills on Java 17 / 21
- Must Have Hands on experience in Vertx / Spring Boot / Java / REST API
- Must be familiar with Maven, Gradle, CICD, Sonar, Unit Testing, Github
- Very good analytical and debugging skills
- Should be a independent performer with client coordination skills
Required Skills:
- 15 yrs of relevant experience
- Strong REST API Development skills
- Core Java , Spring Core , Spring MVC , Microservices , Java 8
- Maven / Sonar / CICD / MUP / XLR / Splunk / GHA
- Gihub / GHA / Splunk / SCM
- Hystrix / Redis / Prometheus / Kafka

The annual salary for this position is between $102,600– $162,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
