Network Engineer – Hybrid Position

Experience- 6-10 years

Location: Santa Clara, CA

Hybrid position- 3-4 days in office per week

Required skills

Solid routing and switching skills, /troubleshooting

Scripting knowledge Incident, Change, Request, Problem Management – SNOW Dashboard Experience

Responsibilities:

Follow ITIL framework for incident, change, and problem management in SNOW

Use monitoring tools (Wireshark, Kentik, Prometheus)

Develop automation scripts using Saltstack/Python

Deploy enterprise networks using Cisco, Arista, and Mellanox

Perform physical rack and stack operations if required for major incidents resolution at DC/Lab

Configure and optimize routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP)

Implement EVPN & VXLAN solutions

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy networking solutions that align with business objectives.

Monitor network performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.

Provide technical support and guidance to team members on networking-related issues.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in network security and management.

Document network configurations processes and procedures for reference and training purposes.

Stay updated with the latest networking technologies and trends to continuously improve the network

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $49,001 – $107,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
