The Role
Our Utilities Consulting group is looking for a Senior Consultant to join our journey.
We’re looking for Senior Consultant who can deliver within Cognizant’s Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence, which are: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Senior Consultant (which is a Manager level position) this means partnering with clients and project stakeholders, colleagues. Responsibilities
Ideal candidate would be leading Consulting teams who will be responsible for: We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with about 10 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in consulting and expertise in the energy utility sector. This role is expected to actively work with an Energy Utility client stakeholders to apply industry best practices from project management and business analysis domain. Lead and conduct all project management activities such as understanding project scope and requirements, tracking the requirements development and delivery, business process flows review and analysis. This role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing client relationships, and ensuring project success while aligning with energy utility goals and regulations.
Qualifications
- Energy Utility Industry domain knowledge.
- Project management experience in the energy utility sector or consulting industry
- Understand the current business processes, systems, integrations, dataflows and identify pain points.
- In-depth knowledge of energy utility operations, regulatory environments, and renewable energy systems.
- Analyze energy utility processes, systems, and technologies to identify areas for improvement
- Lead consulting projects focused on energy utility challenges such as grid optimization, demand response, renewable energy integration, and regulatory compliance.
- Define project scope, goals, and success metrics in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and timelines, ensuring alignment with client objectives
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience managing client relationships.
- Proven experience in requirements gathering, development of business requirements documents (BRD) and functional requirements documents (FRD).
- Possess strong experience in project management, business analysis and stakeholder management.
- Conduct workshops with client stakeholders to gather key information.
- Allocate resources effectively and provide guidance to ensure timely delivery of project milestones
- Collaborate with other Cognizant internal and external vendor teams.
- Monitor and report on project performance using KPIs and dashboards.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage risks, issues, and changes throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful outcomes.
Desired Skillset:

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Masters degree strongly preferred
Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in US without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $98,853.00 – $158,500.00 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
