The Role: Individual Contributor External Facing Role
Role and Responsibilities:
- Experience in working Mainframe, COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, FTP, Scheduling etc
- Should have strong analytical, problem solving and planning ability
- Willingness to work independently or in a team oriented environment both efficiently and courteously.
- Should have good knowledge on Agile-Scrum development.
- Should have excellent communication skills as this role requires client interaction.
- The Mainframe Developer codes software applications based on business requirements.
- Collaborating with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements. Understand both Technical and business requirements.
- Participating in Scrum meetings and product sprints
- Plan and manage releases (Technical and Business), checkouts and signoffs.
- Ability to evaluate RCA of issues, drive to resolution and deliver.
- Work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
- Should have good debugging skill and develops fixes.
- Researches complaints and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software related issues.
- Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
- Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.
- Follows established guidelines/procedures.
Required Experience:
· Have Excellent communications
· Healthcare/PBM Domain experience preferred.
· Have very good technical knowledge/experience (in Mainframe)
· 8 – 12 yrs of exp in application development and project delivery
· Be well acquainted with Agile model
Salary and Other Compensation:
Applicants will be accepted till 2/24/2025
The annual salary for this position will be in the range of $72K-$92K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
