Middle School ELA Teacher - One-Year Position

Cohasset Middle School seeks a certified candidate for teaching sixth grade English Language Arts (ELA). The approximate dates are August 27, 2025, until June 17, 2026. The candidate must hold a valid Massachusetts license. If you have a passion for literature, an ability to inspire early adolescents, can create a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom climate, and are adept at strengthening students’ writing, critical thinking, and organizational skills, then please send us your credentials. The duties commonly associated with the position include but are not limited to: ●Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear literacy objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students. ●Develop and implement learning experiences that align with the curriculum frameworks and engage and center students as they develop active reading and effective writing skills ●Assess learning and provide meaningful feedback that supports the growth of students’ literacy skills ●Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. All students should feel a sense of belonging and safety in the classroom. ●Provide direct support to students in a classroom by delivering instruction and ensuring learning through a variety of co-teaching models and strategies. ●Develop positive and productive collaborative relationships with special education teachers/co-teachers as well as grade-level team colleagues ●Build positive relationships with students, families, and the CMS faculty
