What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interim Elementary Team Chairperson (PK-5) position at Cohasset Public Schools?
Position Type: Full-time (184 days 10 additional days)
Duties:
•Schedule, Chair/facilitate Initial and Reevaluation Team Meetings
•Monitor the completion of the IEP process and notification to staff and families
•Coordinate referral process for evaluations with families and staff
•Review all special education paperwork at the elementary school level for compliance
•Share resources and materials with staff regarding current and best practices in meeting the needs of diverse learners
•Participate in Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) Teams
•Coordinate the transition of students from each grade
•Facilitate parent observations of special education programs
•Meet regularly with Director of Students Services
•Coordinate selected caseload of out of district students
•Provide support to building administrators in regards to special education scheduling and accommodations
•Resource to SEPAC, parents and administration
•Collaborate with Early Intervention Program and the Cohasset Public Schools
•Other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services

•Builds strong relationships with students, staff, and families
•Allocates services and funds in data driven and fiscally responsible manner during team process
•Is actively involved in professional development in order to be current in new methods and approached in special education
•Attends Special Education Department meetings and selected SEPAC Meeting
•Participates with colleagues as contributing member of the school community and contributes to school effectiveness.
