Job Summary
The Line lead is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of a production line, ensuring processes and procedures are followed, facilitating the training of line workers, troubleshooting issues, and applying LEAN manufacturing principles.
This is what you will do:
- Provide leadership for the production line employees.
- Direct and train production line personnel; including downtime responsibilities.
- Communicate production and performance expectations to the line personnel.
- Coordinate changeover processes and verify components are properly staged online.
- Report issues that might result in “hold” material.
- Identify, analyze, and correct the production rate barriers.
- Ensure proper line staffing.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the line equipment, tools, and instrumentation.
- Perform each position online and run each zone.
- Perform line setup and preventative maintenance of equipment.
- Comply with quality, safety, and efficiency standards and practices.
- Maintain a high degree of personal hygiene and housekeeping.
- Follow and encourage others to follow the company’s safety, quality, and GMP policies and procedures.
- Maintain an excellent attendance record.
- Stop, remove, and/or report safety hazards.
- Ensure complete and accurate data and documentation of information.
- Participate in Team meetings and display a positive attitude.
- Positively impact metrics, and costs, through uptime and efficiencies.
- Help facilitate, sponsor, and train new and temporary team members.
- Act politely and processional and foster a “team mentality”
- Understand staff capacities, published production schedules, goals, and SOPs.
- Identify problems and issues and initiate corrective actions.
- Report Redline concerns to management.
- Communicate effectively with others.
- Perform work onsite.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This is what you will need:
- High School diploma or equivalent. – Post-secondary education is a plus
- Minimum of two [2] years’ experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Minimum of one [1] year of leadership and training experience in manufacturing.
- Experience working with LEAN manufacturing principles.
- Demonstrated competency running each zone.
- Experience using an AS400 system.
- Experience in training, safety, quality, and GMPs.
- The ability to be a self-starter and work independently.
- Mechanical aptitude in a fast-paced production line, and manufacturing environment.
- Intermediate math skills.
- Comfortable working under deadlines.
- Proven strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to exercise judgment and set priorities.
- Ability to direct, delegate, and problem-solve while organizing and prioritizing based on deadlines.
- RF Gun skills.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English competently.
