Intern, High-Speed Optical Data Communications

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for optical setups and alignments of the electro optical assemblies
• Proposed design solutions and validation methods for efficient high speed transceivers and components

Education & Experience

• BS/MS degree and pursuing PhD degree.
• Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Skills

• Strong interpersonal, teaming, and problem-solving skills.
• Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp. 

Working Conditions

• This position is onsite
• Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary

Physical Requirements

• Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or conducting meetings.
• Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.
• Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Mobility within the office environment to attend meetings or interact with colleagues.
