We are seeking a Facility Engineer in our East Granby, CT facility, whwere we develop and produce specialty optical fiber.
Job Description:
- Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on large-scale manufacturing equipment to maximize uptime and efficiency
- Operational Support: Collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to support and maintain the reliable operation of equipment critical to optical fiber manufacturing
- Preventative Maintenance: Develop and follow preventative maintenance schedules, ensuring minimal equipment downtime and optimizing performance
- Quality Control: Ensure all equipment operates within required tolerances and performance standards, supporting our commitment to delivering high-quality optical fiber products
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and documentation of equipment settings and parameters
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety, working with engineering to implement enhancements
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working with large manufacturing equipment, fostering a safe working environment
Experience & qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Equipment Technician or Mechanical Technician in a manufacturing setting, preferably within high-tech or precision-focused industries
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairing large machinery such as lathes, draw towers, or similar production equipment
- Problem-Solving Ability: Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing equipment issues
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may require standing, bending, lifting, and operating machinery
