What are the responsibilities and job description for the Precision Stage Assembly Technician position at Coherent Corp.?
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Assembly and testing of all precision stage assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Ability to operate CMM proficiently to perform final assembly measurements
- Work closely with team lead to assure all priorities are met
- Produce consistent product quality with minimal supervision in accordance with documented work instructions
- Adherence to all daily ISO requirements i.e., tool calibration, expiration dates, correct forms etc
Education & Experience
- High School graduate, AAS preferred but not required
- 0-2 years assembly work involving set procedures
Skills
- Good mechanical problem solving, organizational and clerical skills.
- Ability to lift and handle assemblies weighing 30lbs
- Proficient with common lab tools - i.e. calipers, micrometers, manual drill press, etc.
- Proficient operation of Zeiss CMM and all related test equipment
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
Working Conditions
Laboratory conditions involving the use of assorted assembly tools.
Physical Requirements
- High degree of concentration and extreme attention to detail is required due to the complexity and value.
- Standing (2hours per day)
- Lifting (30lbs.)
- Pushing/Pulling (30lbs.)
- Sitting (6hours per day)
Safety Requirements
All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.

Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
