Job Description:

• As an Android WiFi Network/GoogleCast Engineer, you'll be crucial in adding, improving, and debugging the casting feature. You will be working on the stack above the driver level.

While Google Cast handles media fetching, your focus will be on the network side of things:

1. Smooth Communication: Ensuring a strong and stable WiFi connection so devices can communicate effectively for casting.
2. Network Optimization: Potentially making adjustments to your network settings (like prioritizing certain types of traffic) to optimize it for streaming media content.

This might involve tasks like:

• Quality of Service (QoS): Prioritizing media traffic for smoother playback.
• Buffer Management: Tuning buffer settings to minimize buffering interruptions.
• Channel Selection: Choosing the optimal WiFi channel to avoid congestion that can disrupt casting.
• It's important to note that extensive network changes might not be necessary. Often, optimization involves fine-tuning existing settings to ensure the network efficiently handles the demands of Google Cast.

Basic qualifications

• BA or MA in Computer Science or a related field.
• 10 years of experience.
• Android Networking API.
• Experience in troubleshooting issues related to the Wi-Fi supplicant (authentication, encryption, and connect to a wireless network).
• Experience with Wi-Fi Security Protocols such as WPA2 and WPA3.
• Experience with any of Airplay, Miracast, WiDi, GoogleCast, DLNA is a plus.
• Tools like Wireshark.
• C / Java/Kotlin.
