What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Superintendent position at Cohn Construction?
Primary Function: Lead and motivate, in all efforts for safety, production, quality control, schedule, budget adherence, and daily on-site activities associated with the project or areas assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Develops the overall construction plans for the project in conjunction with the project team
- Reads and interprets plans and specifications from the Architect/Engineer and can communicate these to others
- Oversees all aspects of construction to ensure compliance with the scope, quality, and building codes as established by the contract documents
- Reads, implements, and effectively adjusts project schedules for project conditions
- Applies Quality Control Practices
- Identifies pre-mobilization activities in conjunction with the project team
- Conducts inspections and audits of construction project activities and processes
- Attends owner, project turnover, mobilization, and coordination, and closeout meetings
- Directs subcontractors and suppliers by scheduling and sequencing the day to day activities of work
- Manages tool and equipment utilization for the project to ensure our resources are used efficiently
- Leads weekly Superintendent Meeting
- Leads weekly Site Safety Meeting
- Produces accurate Project Daily reports
- Ability to forecast labor and material needs for the project
- Participates in the presentation of an RFP when required
- Promotes and maintains positive relationships with the Owner/Architect/Engineer
- Proactively anticipates and solves problems that could delay construction
- Maintains assigned company assets
- Assists Project Manager in development and periodic updates of project schedule
- Implements and adheres to Safety Program, OSHA guidelines, and Company policies, procedures, and standards
- Promotes integrity, honesty, hard work, safety, and quality throughout all aspects of the project and is a professional representative of Cohn Construction
- Performs additional assignments as directed by management or as required for successful project completion
