CohnReznick’s Advisory Group currently has an exciting career opportunity on the Valuation Advisory Services team for a Financial Modeling and Decision Analytics Professional. This role can be based out of our major hubs (NYC, Chicago, DC Metro or Los Angeles) or can be virtual.
The Financial Modeling & Decision Analytics Director is responsible for overseeing all phases of project and engagement management for multiple clients in a wide variety of industries. This individual will work closely with partners and staff and play a key role in client management, practice development and business development.
Responsibilities:
- Develop complex financial analyses and financial models to support engagements within a variety of industries, including (but not limited to): technology, life sciences, retail and consumer products, and manufacturing & distribution.
- Supervise and oversee all aspects of Financial Modeling and Analytics for engagements throughout the transaction process.
- Serve as the day-to-day point person for all financial modeling needs on engagements, and always ready to lead meetings and calls with clients and firm management.
- Work closely with team members at all levels to promptly identify areas of needs from a modeling and decision analytics perspective.
- Communicate with internal and external clients at all levels of the organization to successfully accomplish objectives while conveying knowledge and confidence.
- Seek to improve internal processes, procedures, analyses, and models.
- Mentor, supervise, and develop staff; provide performance feedback and training.
- Understand and manage firm risk on projects and proposals.
- Manage client expectations concerning project deliverables and deadlines and lead change efforts effectively.
- Manage business development activities, such as proposals, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership material.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships and cross-sell services.
- Meet or exceed sales targets for new and follow-on work.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 10 years of related work experience; minimum of 4 years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree is preferred.
- CFA and/or CPA is preferred
- Prior experience working in a financial modeling/business analytics team, Investment Bank, Private Equity/Fund, FP&A.
- Superior Microsoft Excel, VBA, and financial modeling skills, including 3-statement financial forecasting, scenario analysis, trends analysis, variance analysis, and other strategic decision analytics.
- Demonstrated experience, strong current knowledge and proficiency in corporate finance, M&A, valuation, financial accounting, US GAAP
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and root cause determination skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, and training, mentoring, and development of staff.
- Action-oriented, decisive approach, with the willingness to take a hands-on role to ensure the deliverables are met on time with high quality and within budget, a natural self-starter and independent thinker.
- Proven ability to develop client relationships and effectively interact directly with senior client personnel / C-Suite and key decision-makers.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (in addition to Excel): PowerPoint, Word
