JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary:
- Work to develop new designs and/or make improvements to existing semiconductor test equipment products.
- Responsible for assigned mechanical and sustaining engineering products/projects, including analyzing and solving root cause problems, containing solutions, performing corrective action, testing, evaluating, and reporting findings.
- Provide project management on existing products, including timelines, schedules, design review, and writing of functional specifications.
- Follow engineering Product Development Process (PDP) on new development products, including functional specifications, design and prototype, testing, customer validation, release to manufacturing, and manufacturing support.
- Research, select and test vendor products.
- Research and generate solutions and assist in all functions required to document and process engineering changes orders.
- Support the manufacturing floor and machine shop as sustaining engineering effort as required. Interface with customers and sales on projects.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related academic field.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering.
- Alternative Qualification: Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related academic field and 4 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering in lieu of a Master’s degree or equivalent and 2 years of experience.
Skills/Technical Requirements:
- Work experience to include:
(1) Working in machine design.
(2) Designing mechanisms and movements.
(3) Designing thermal and electro-mechanical systems.
(4) Project management of products, including timelines, schedules, design reviews, and writing functional specifications.
(5) Equipment and machined part design, involving mechanical and thermal systems.
(6) Machining, thermal concerns, wear on materials, and aging.
(7) Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to analyze root cause.
(8) Drafting parts and components using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) with close tolerances of /- 0.0012 mm.
(9) Preparing technical presentations that include importing drawings, charts, graphs, tables, and images using MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, SolidWorks, and Adobe Acrobat.
(10) Using SolidWorks 2020 or higher version to draft and document assembly drawings and associated bills of material.
(11) SolidWorks simulation tools (Finite Element Analysis, Thermal Analysis, and Flow Analysis) to analyze designs and mitigate against risk and failure.
- Position requires 5% domestic travel and 5% international travel. Travel expenses paid by employer.

- Salary: $138,216 to $140,000/yr.
