ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER- Electric Power

Minimum Education/Training
BSEE or BSME from qualified institution

Minimum Experience
3-5 years in electrical power industry with proven technical marketing experience with transmission class equipment and its application (transformer/inductor (reactor) products preferred)

Including, but not limited to the tasks below, the Sales and Design Engineer duties will be:

Projects

• Work with independent sales reps and/or customers and factory counterparts to design, prepare accurate, competitive proposals.
• Proof purchase orders for entry into Company systems.

Technical Assistance

• Provide detailed technical product and application guidance to reps and clients.
• Perform root-cause failure/problem analysis where needed – may include field service to site.

Marketing

• Give technical presentations and classes either remotely (MS Teams or Zoom, etc.) or at client site.
• Must understand electrical power (transmission and distribution) principles and be able to perform market research including gathering, examining and analyzing industry market trends, pricing levels, and competitors in general and for each given project. Also, must prepare reports and help draft industry papers.
• Participate in industry conferences, events, and on relevant committees whether regional (NWPPA or Mipsycon) or national/international (US and Canada, such as IEEE, Cigre).
• Travel approximately 15% annually.
• Participate in drafting strategic marketing goals and overseeing their execution.
• Clients: Representatives, engineers, supply chain, field technicians, industry consultants, management and C-level personnel for utilities, consulting firms, distributors, EPCs, industry, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
