Description
The Control Room Operator performs all tasks essential in the preparation, storage of finished products and raw materials, utilizing reactors, storage tanks, pumps, and other equipment specific to Coim USA's manufacturing units. Primary duties will involve charging raw materials to reactor, packaging completed batches and re-packing finish good; obtaining samples and performing basic analysis as water test; shipping finish good and receiving raw material through tank truck and / or railcar.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
General
Maintains daily logs and records as instructed.
Assists in training newer operators.
Recognizes and documents "abnormal" operating conditions with proper response including immediate notification of supervision.
Dispose of empty used containers.
Raw Materials
Reading batch and operating instructions associated for the preparation of raw material.
Unload bulk raw materials and intermediates from trucks and railcars to storage or packages.
Proper operation of transfer controls, PLC systems, pneumatic, and electrical equipment for the offloading of raw materials.
Sampling of incoming raw materials.
Identification and preparation of re-work and partial containers in ovens for upcoming batches.
Charge Reactors
Load raw material in the reactors through super-sacks, totes, or drums material.
Using the proper check list to track raw material charging.
Reactions
Setting of parameters on the PLC for the batch.
Sectioning Oil valves and re-use of previous column and condenser.
Monitoring PLC and reactor parameters and status.
Performs analysis as Viscosity, Acid Number, OH (NIR) and Moisture.
Judges and performs adjustment to the batch.
Consequences of final sample results (cooling, transferring batches, re-heat batches).
Finished Goods
Reading batch and operating instructions associated for the preparation of packaging of finished products.
Loading of bulk trucks and railcars.
Retaining samples for package or bulk loading.
Performs moisture analysis on retains.
Re-packages finished good for customers shipments.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED is required.
Minimum of 3 years' experience as a batch process operator in the chemical field.
Knowledge of forklift operation is required.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft systems, Outlook, Excel.
Must possess good working knowledge of plant equipment, operation, and processes.
