The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for coordinating, administering, and implementing Coinstar’s compliance program. As a Compliance Specialist, you will collaborate with internal and external partners to execute projects and initiatives. You will function as the key liaison in supporting Coinstar’s compliance program across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

 General Compliance:

  • Support managing external partner relationships and projects, specifically counterparts within partner compliance teams.
  • Facilitate and coordinate a variety of audits involving multiple individuals and teams (e.g. external auditors, internal stakeholders, regulatory examinations) and follow-up on open compliance issues and observations and develop written responses as needed.
  • Assist with compliance responses to federal and state regulatory agencies, audits, legal inquiries, and subpoenas ensuring timely and accurate resolution and documentation.
  • Participate in compliance projects and initiatives and support the compliance team in achieving goals and objectives.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reporting related on compliance and risk management practices.

 Corporate Policy and Procedure Management:

  • Maintain and update an inventory of Coinstar corporate and compliance policies and procedures and develop a review process to align with current best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop a process for updating existing and development of new policies and procedures as well as related compliance and training obligations, as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance policy or procedure trackers are complete and collaborate with internal teams to update documentation.

Regulatory Knowledge & Monitoring:

  • Monitor and maintain awareness of laws, regulations and best practices relating to Coinstar’s risk and compliance obligations, including: Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM), Compliance Monitoring and Testing, Issues Management and Remediation, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Virtual Currency Kiosk Compliance.

 Due Diligence & Third-Party RM Program:

  • Field and assist in the completion of due diligence questionnaires and audits from prospective and current partners, ensuring accuracy and consistency of responses.
  • Participate in all phases of the third-party vendor lifecycle, including working with internal partners to conduct initial and ongoing risk assessments, collection and review of due diligence information, and monitoring of vendors to ensure Third Party Risk Management program compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of third-party vendor risk documentation and prepare reports for management and relevant partners as needed.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2 years of relevant experience, financial services preferred

  • High attention to detail and strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize time efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with web-based software applications.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with team members across departments.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and manage changing priorities.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to implement new processes throughout the organization.

Location and Business Travel

  • This position is based at our corporate headquarters in Bellevue, WA. Work from home arrangements are welcome within the Greater Seattle area.
  • This position requires little to no business travel.

Pay and Benefits

The typical starting hourly rate for this position is between $23.95-$29.93 per hour. Coinstar utilizes geographically based pay ranges, within the United States, which allows us to pay competitively and consistently based on location. Within the range for the applicable geographic area, individual pay is determined by several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Employees in this position have the potential to increase their hourly rate up to $35.92, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing demonstrated and continuous performance in the role. Short-Term bonus incentives are a part of the total compensation package and are based on Company and Individual performance.

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse, and telephone. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally move about the work site to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or regularly move objects. Communicate and exchange information with co-workers and other individuals in person and electronically.
