The QA/QC Technician 1 plays a critical role in ensuring the quality of our asphalt products, performing testing and inspection of materials, and maintaining accurate records.

Compensation

$21.00 - $24.00 per hour (dependent upon experience & NYS certifications for asphalt and cement QA/QC currently held)

Main Responsibilities

• Inspect products for quality, identify and take corrective action as necessary.
• Keep lab in neat, clean, and professional order.
• Ensure accurate test results are reported daily, and on time.
• Implement measures to improve quality control methods, equipment, performance, service, safety, and quality of products.
• Review and analyze test results to determine conformity with product specifications as required.
  
  

Skills

• Have a good solid understanding of the basic specifications, principles, and products associated with the construction / aggregate / Asphalt industry.
• Recognize actual and potential problems related to quality control operations.
• Inspect products for quality, identify and take corrective action as necessary.
• Keep certifications, and qualifications up to date through seminars, meetings, and tests.
• Ensure that all quality control activities are conducted in conformance with company policies, regulatory agencies, and acceptable working practices.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Able to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
• Able to work in wet and/or dry conditions and extreme heat and cold.
• Obtain the necessary NYS Technician Certifications
