Job Summary
Responsible for daily operations of one or more fixed and/or mobile commercial asphalt production plants.
Main Responsibilities
- Embrace the Company’s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
- Support, promote, and practice the Company’s core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality and production efficiency standards for assigned plants/sites
- Effectively manage the work environment to ensure safety, environmental, regulatory and production targets are met
- Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, DEQ, EPA and similar industry regulations
- Run daily activities of asphalt plant production crews to meet established business and production objectives
- Coordinate with internal and external customers to ensure timely delivery of product to worksites
- Assist with hiring, training, and developing employees to perform at their highest level
- Ensure established maintenance schedules and practices are followed to minimize plant down-time; assist with diagnosing and resolving equipment operational issues
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience; college and/or technical degree in relevant field preferred
- Current MSHA Certification and/or ability to obtain may be required for some roles
- Valid drivers’ license and ability to maintain a clean motor vehicle record required
- 3 years of practical experience with asphalt, ready mix, emulsion, and/or similar production processes
- 2 years of experience leading and managing employees
- Consistent track record of maintaining a safe work culture
- Self-directed, results-oriented, and highly motivated requiring minimal direct guidance
- Ability to plan, problem-solve, and work effectively toward deadlines
- Solid computer skills using MS Office, plant production software, and similar programs
