Job Summary
Barrett Paving Materials MWC is looking for a motivated and hardworking Asphalt/Milling Laborer to join our dynamic team. This role involves assisting with asphalt paving and milling operations, ensuring quality and safety on the job site. The ideal candidate should be a team player with a strong commitment to safety and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup and operation of milling equipment during road resurfacing projects.
- Help in the preparation of job sites by clearing debris and ensuring a clean work environment.
- Monitor milling depth and adjust equipment as needed to achieve desired specifications.
- Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies necessary for milling and paving operations.
- Operate hand tools and small equipment safely, including saws, grinders, and compactors.
- Collaborate with the paving crew to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality results.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform routine maintenance and checks on equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in construction, paving, or milling preferred but not required.
- Ability to operate basic construction tools and equipment.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Basic knowledge of safety practices in construction environments.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and flexible hours.
