Mission
Reeves Construction Company is currently seeking an individual for the position of Asphalt Paver Screed Operator based out of Augusta, GA. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Needs to have the ability to correctly set up paver screed, lay a uniform thickness.
- An accurate and working knowledge of the paver screed (ex. correct speed, check on material coming out of truck, straight lines)
- The ability to take a leadership role on the crew
- The willingness and ability to keep paver and screed maintained and clean
- The willingness to work nights and weekends
- The ability to operate equipment in a safe and consistent manner
Education & Experience
- Must have 6 months to 1 year of experience
- Must have knowledge of various asphalt mixes
- Must have experience working in and around construction equipment
- Provide own transportation to and from work
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Must be able to climb onto and up and down a machine several times a day.
- Must be able to sit in a machine and operate it for several hours without stopping.
- Must withstand vibration from job site conditions as well as noise from other equipment.
- Must be able to use arms, hands, and feet in repetitive motions.
- Must be able to perform manual duties, such as placing paint drums on the vehicle.
