Job Summary
Barrett Paving Materials is seeking an experienced Low Boy Driver with a Class A CDL and a strong background in semi-truck driving to join our team in Midwest City (MWC). The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting heavy equipment and materials to various job sites while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and drive a low boy trailer to transport heavy equipment and materials safely and efficiently.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Ensure loads are properly secured and compliant with all regulations.
- Plan routes to optimize delivery efficiency while considering factors such as traffic and road conditions.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of deliveries and driving hours in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members regarding delivery status and any potential issues.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist with loading and unloading of equipment as needed, following safe handling practices.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of semi-truck driving experience, with a focus on low boy or heavy equipment transport preferred.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading materials.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety.
