We are seeking an experienced Lowboy Driver to join our teams in the New York Central region, transporting heavy equipment efficiently and safely to job sites.
Compensation
$29 - $31/hour
Main Responsibilities
- Safely move heavy equipment to job sites, ensuring efficient and timely delivery.
- Operate equipment for loading and unloading from lowboy trailers, following safety protocols.
- Secure loads according to DOT regulations, ensuring safe transport and minimizing risks.
- Prioritize safety for yourself, coworkers, and the traveling public, adhering to all relevant regulations.
- Maintain an excellent driving record by following all laws under DOT, FMCSA, State, and Federal governments.
- Perform daily inspections and report any maintenance or repair needs immediately.
- During downtime, driver will be required to haul aggregate.
Skills
- Knowledge of construction equipment and lowboy trailer operations.
- Ability to operate various types of equipment efficiently and safely.
- Flatbed/lowboy experience, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Solid understanding of DOT Regulations and commitment to safety.
- Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Hold a valid Class A CDL with a good driving record.
- Be willing to travel 75-90% of the time.
- Adhere to all DOT and Barrett Paving Material safety regulations.
- Be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Be able to stand and walk across uneven terrain regularly.
