Job Summary
IA Construction is seeking a skilled Quality Control Laboratory Technician to join our team at the Garland Aggregate Plant. As a key member of our quality control team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in our aggregate products.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct efficient and accurate bituminous asphalt testing, including asphalt content and gradation, maximum theoretical density of mix, and specific gravity of compacted mix.
- Participate in daily safety huddles and maintain a strong focus on safety protocols.
- Perform aggregate material testing, sampling, absorption, LA Abrasion, specifications, un-compacted voids, Sodium / Magnesium Loss, and crush counts.
- Inventory products, QC sampling, schedules, specifications, testing, gradations, and crush gravity of compacted mix efficiently.
- Develop bituminous mix designs and provide an overview of Pennsylvania design processes for HMC and WMA as per job specifications.
Education
- A high school diploma or equivalent experience is required.
Skills
- Proficiency with computer software and equipment, including fax machines, printers, and copiers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build professional relationships with coworkers, management, and customers.
- A strong safety conscience and safety-oriented mindset.
- Basic math skills and the ability to understand various software programs.
- Familiarity with ASTM and AASHTO standards and procedures.
