Job Summary:
The Construction Operations Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of construction operations for a heavy civil and paving contractor in Southeast Alaska. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing projects to ensure timely delivery, adherence to budgets, and compliance with safety and quality standards. The manager will play a pivotal role in optimizing efficiency, productivity, and profitability while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise multiple construction projects simultaneously, ensuring they meet deadlines and budgets.
- Collaborate with project managers to allocate resources effectively and prioritize tasks based on urgency and client needs.
- Develop and implement construction strategies, including contractor selection and project execution guidelines.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate operational and financial risks
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Act as a liaison between project managers and company management, facilitating communication and decision-making.
- Train and mentor employees in project management and estimating.
- Maintain and enhance relationships with contractors and stakeholders to foster strategic partnerships.
Qualifications:
- 5 years proven experience with construction operations in heavy civil and paving projects.
- Experience and demonstration of strong leadership and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and construction industry standards
- Ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively
- Proficiency in project management software and tools including HCSS, P6, Excel, MS Project
