This role is crafted for Drill Rig Operators who will work closely with the construction team to ensure timely completion of project goals and adhere to safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Main Responsibilities
- Operate GPS equipped Sandvik DX700 and DX800 top hammer drill rigs, John Henry Excavator mounted drill rigs for highway construction, and wall stabilization drilling and blasting projects in Alaska.
- Complete drill logs and provide support to the blasting crew.
- Perform daily equipment checks and basic drill maintenance.
- Apply safety practices and guidelines associated with the project and drilling activities including the wearing of personal protective equipment.
- Carries out work based on precise directives from their hierarchy.
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards by taking part in continuous training and development programs.
- Professional Certifications
- Outstanding attention to detail and a strong dedication to safety and environmental guidelines.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and complete projects within strict deadlines.
- Prefer a minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience as a driller.
- Physical ability to complete a Physical Abilities Test (PAT) and work in various outdoor conditions.
- Effective interpersonal skills and the capability to build cooperative working relationships with the team.
