Experienced Large Dog Playroom Specialist - Part Time

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Pup Handling

· Wear slip-lead, treat pouch and walkie-talkie at all times.

· Never, under any circumstance, leave pups unkenneled while unattended

· Engage pups in play activities including exercise walks, fetch, chase, etc.

· Independently supervise group play sessions with at least 24 pre-screened pups of any size

· Conduct 5-point body check of all pups in playroom toward the end of shift

· Immediately report health, behavior or safety concerns to the supervisor

· Harness and walk pups, carabinered to belt (not belt loop)

Food and Water

· Distribute food as listed on White Board

· Provide clean, full water bowls to all pups at all times

Cleaning and Organization

· Discard pup stools and record each pup’s elimination habits for Premium Sleepovers or when requested

· At beginning of morning shift and end of evening shift, clean and sanitize all pup enclosures

· Vacuum then mop floors at end of all shifts

· Place runcards on doors, provide water for next day’s pups, hang collars on doors and latch doors

· Clean empty cubbies at the end of evening shift

· Clean, sanitize and rinse all food and water bowls

· Restock spray bottles, poop bags and paper towels

· Disinfect gym equipment

· Mix and use disinfectants and other chemicals safely as instructed by supervisor

· Operate washer and dryer to clean pup belongings, towels, etc.

· Assist with unloading and storing pup food and supplies

· Empty and sanitize trash cans and receptacles

· Help maintain the cleanliness of the property by picking up and disposing of trash or debris

· Keep shelves, sinks, furniture, counters, and glass clean, sanitary and free of clutter/debris.

Pup Bathing

· Provide quality Bath, Brush and Nails (BBN) and ensure workspace is clean after service is complete

Other

· Follow all company procedures

· Photograph pups at least once per shift, assuring all pups have a unblurry photo in which it looks happy and with a clean background only on company provided equipment

· Ensure daily tasks are completed on schedule and accurately, utilizing approved workplans

· Assist with other facility maintenance tasks and repairs as requested

Education/Experience:

· At least 6 months experience in a professional pup environment (e.g., shelter, rescue organization, kennel, vet office)

· Comfort managing large pups

Computer Skills

· Basic, ability to use Paylocity software proficiently

Certificates & Licenses:

· PackPro Group Management & Dog Body Language

· Access and training will be provided upon starting employment

Physical Requirements

Position is both indoors and outside. Majority of time is spent standing, walking and bending. Must be able to:

· Stand for long periods of time

· Lift 50-75 lbs

· Ability to physically manage and handle large pups

· Bend and lift several times per day

· Walk intermittently throughout the day

· Work around pet hair and dander

· Work all holidays and weekends year-round
