Colchester School District seeks a daily Substitute Principal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred current VT administrative license with Principal endorsement.
- Minimum of five years successful teaching experience and three years school administration or equivalent leadership experience.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills; ability to facilitate individual and organizational change processes.
- Evidence of personal professional development, a commitment to lifelong learning, and knowledge of current best practices in elementary education.
- Commitment to the District’s mission and Strategic Plan.
- Develop a positive school climate by communicating clear standards for staff and student performance.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for students, staff, and the community at large.
- Supervise and evaluate all teachers and support staff using the district's defined processes and forms.
- Recommend the hiring and orientation of new school staff members; involve parents, community, students and staff members in this process, as appropriate.
- Facilitate the articulation and coordination of effective curriculum development practices; coordinate curriculum initiatives with other schools in the district.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of district programs; work collaboratively with all administrators and area supervisors to achieve district standards.
- Facilitate organizational growth and development; assess program outcomes annually.
- Use a variety of formats to communicate with parents and to promote positive school/community/business partnerships.
- Collaborate with all staff members in preparing, implementing, and managing the school's operational budget; focus resources to achieve school goals.
- Accurately account for all student activities and petty cash funds. Discuss with Business/Operations Manager, use the format recommended by our auditors when preparing reports on these funds.
- Support and enforce district/school discipline policies and practices; revise and assess their effectiveness as needed.
- Maintain current and effective substitute teacher and student teacher files; follow district processes in hiring substitute staff members.
- Engage in personal professional development activities and nurture the professional growth of other staff members.
- Organize and facilitate an orientation program for incoming kindergartners and/or new students.
- Perform other duties or responsibilities as directed by the Superintendent.
