JOB TITLE: READING INTERVENTIONIST – OCLSD Grant
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The reading interventionist organizes and implements an instructional intervention program for students in grades 4-12.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer and interpret diagnostic and formative assessment data to make ongoing instructional decisions.
- Prepare and implement evidence-based reading interventions.
- Create, organize, and maintain an intervention schedule to maximize the time and number of students served.
- As part of the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) process, monitor progress on an ongoing basis and adjust interventions based on students' responses.
- Design resources that meet the needs of a diverse student population.
- Provide explicit, systematic, and multisensory interventions effectively to struggling readers.
- Collaborate with teachers on a regular basis to share data and students’ responses to interventions in order to ensure alignment of the intervention to core instruction.
- Communicate with parents and teachers to provide detailed documentation of interventions and student progress.
- Collaborate with multiple teams regarding student needs to establish appropriate interventions and supports.
- Utilize a variety of multi-sensory techniques to meet the needs of all learners.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree

Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in one of the following areas:
- Reading Specialist
- 6-12 Language Arts Certification
- PK-12 Special Education with second certification in Reading
- Early Childhood or Elementary Certification
- Background/knowledge in reading/intervention strategies/Science of Reading/Research-Based Instructional Strategies
- Successful K-12 classroom teaching experience in the area of reading
This position is on a four-year grant.
