What are the responsibilities and job description for the Water Truck Operator position at Cold Creek Compost, Inc.?
Must be experienced operating manual truck transmission. No license required. On-site off-road driving only. Bilingual preferred.
The Water Truck Operator supports company operations by the safe and efficient operation of the water truck.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates the water truck and other company equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Performs daily maintenance and safety checks of the water truck including cleaning.
- Employs proper operation of the water truck including: start-up, operation, and shutdown knowledge.
- Understands and follows directions from supervisor.
- Sprays water in designated areas of the operation and on the road.
- Monitor vehicle performance, fluid levels, and mechanical fitness and notifies supervisor of any problems immediately.
- Maintains and assures appropriate records such as time sheets and records of loads hauled are completely accurate and provided to supervisor in a timely manner.
- Abides by company policies and procedures and state and local regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Conducts other duties and tasks as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education preferred.
- At least one year related truck driving experience.
- Knowledge of: Water truck operation and other equipment.
- Principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations.
- Common equipment operation procedures and general Company operations and following established methods and standing instructions.
Skills and/or Ability to:
- Work under pressure, handle stressful situations, and maintain flexibility.
- Ability to maintain high levels of activity or productivity; operating with effectiveness, and determination over extended periods of time.
- Ability to understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and customers.
- Ability to communicate on a two-way radio, cell phone, or similar device.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. and more.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
