We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to join our team as an Assistant Manager & Cake Decorator. In this dual role, you will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of our bakery while also using your artistic skills to create beautifully decorated cakes. You will play an essential part in ensuring excellent customer service, high-quality products, and a smooth-running.
Key Responsibilities:
Assistant Manager Duties:
- Assist the Store Manager with day-to-day bakery operations, including managing staff schedules, inventory control, and ensuring store cleanliness.
- Supervise and support bakery team members to ensure high levels of productivity and excellent customer service.
- Provide training and guidance to new staff members, ensuring they understand company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a high level of quality control for all bakery items, ensuring products meet company standards.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and requests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Manage cash handling, register operations, and assist with end-of-day reconciliation.
- Ensure that all health, safety, and food safety regulations are followed in the bakery.
- Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels of supplies, ingredients, and packaging.
- Assist with promotions and marketing initiatives, ensuring that products are presented attractively in-store.
Cake Decorator Duties:
- Decorate cakes and baked goods with intricate designs, ensuring consistency and quality for custom orders and daily sales.
- Work with customers to design custom cakes for special occasions such as weddings, birthdays, and corporate events.
- Ensure cakes and decorations are finished and delivered according to customer specifications and timelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient decorating process.
- Keep up-to-date with cake decorating trends, techniques, and new decoration tools to offer innovative designs.
- Create visually appealing displays of decorated cakes for in-store promotions and events.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a bakery or food service environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or assistant manager role (preferred).
- Strong experience in cake decorating with a portfolio showcasing a variety of styles (preferred).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Creative mindset and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
