Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier or cake decorator to join our team in a fast-paced grocery store environment. Duties
- Operate cash registers and Point of Sale (POS) systems to process transactions.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments accurately while ensuring compliance with store policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring all supplies are stocked.
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner, providing assistance and answering questions as needed.
- Promote sales through upselling techniques and informing customers about current promotions.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
- Assist in training new cashiers on register operations and customer service standards.
- Perform basic retail math calculations to provide accurate change and manage cash drawers.
Experience
- Prior experience as a cashier or in retail sales is preferred, particularly in a grocery store setting.
- Familiarity with cash registers and POS systems is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with customers and team members.
