Local non-profit agency, in Jefferson City, MO, providing residential services to individuals with intellectual disabilities seeks a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for full-time evening and overnight, including weekends. Starting at $18.58 per hour with an additional $1.00 per hour pay differential for evening and weekend hours. Competitive benefits package for staff working at least 30 hours per week.

POSITION TITLE: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
REPORTS TO: Professional Manager – Residential and Nurse
SUMMARY: CCRSI is a Tiered Support Agency recognized by the Department of Mental Health. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will provide exceptional client care, offering support and assistance with daily living needs. By establishing rapport and delivering personalized care, you will enhance the overall client full care within our facility. The Certified Nursing Assistant has considerable responsibility for training and assisting clients in food preparation, laundry, personal care, medication administration, shopping, house cleaning and ensuring the general health and welfare of clients. Direction is received from the Professional Manager – Residential and Nurse. He/She will be actively involved in and responsible for the implementation of teaching, training, and behavior programs for clients with direction from the Professional Managers. The Certified Nursing Assistant character and conduct shall present a positive model for all and is expected to follow the agency’s core values of: Caring, Compassionate, Respectful, Supportive, Individualized care to the clients CCRSI supports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

- Assist with daily living activities to make sure the client is taken care of. This includes turning and ambulating clients and delivering food and beverages to clients throughout the day.
- Help clients with personal hygiene, such as providing bedpans and helping bathe.
- Provide adjunct client care as needed. This can include delivering ice packs and dressings to help relieve pain while in therapy or baths for soothing purposes after their session has ended.
- Closely monitor and record food intake, as well as urinary and fecal output, to be shared with key medical and nursing staff.
- Recording vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse rate, as requested by staff
- Checking patient vital signs each day and keep reprise records in the clients chart.
- Provides accommodations to individuals with developmental disabilities and interacts in a professional and respectful manner and adheres to CCRSI’s core values of Caring, Compassionate, Respectful, Supportive and Individualized. Arrives on time and works scheduled shifts. Utilizes sick and vacation according to the timelines and procedures outlined in CCRSI’s Policies and Procedures.
- Follows all policies and procedures of CCRSI.
- Completes and maintains all necessary trainings and certifications.
- Communicates clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Communicates promptly with the Professional Managers, co-workers and/or on-call personnel all information needed to effectively operate the program.
- Interacts professionally with CCRSI staff, clients, and outside entities including the public and being a positive role model, while following CCRSI’s Code of Conduct.
- Completes daily documentation including progress notes, medications administered, other documentation as required, and event reports when applicable.
- Follows Client Programs – read and implement the Individual Plan (IP), Behavioral Plans, Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) (hygiene - showers, topical medications, oral care, shaving, and clean-up incontinence), and transferring to wheelchair/bed,
- Maintains a safe work environment by reporting or correcting any issue that may cause harm or damage to other individuals or the home. Makes routine decisions in accordance with procedures, laws, and regulations and apply these to work situations.
- Must work independently.
- Responds effectively and immediately to emergency situations, using good judgement and following agency's emergency procedures.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities over other employees.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee frequently uses cleaning supplies and some mechanical equipment (e.g. Hoyer lifts, c-pap machines, hospital beds, blenders, gait belts, etc.). Employees assist clients with a variety of medical conditions and behavioral situations. The noise level is moderate to quiet with occasional increases. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, file cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position is active through the shift and requires the employee to stand, walk, kneel, bend, twist, stoop, reach above shoulder height, reach below waist, do two handed works, sit, and climb stairs. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 10 to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move clients weighing over 100 pounds. Must be able to carry or push/pull 10-25 pounds. Must be trained and able to administer CPR and First Aide, in emergency and other situations, as needed in compliance with the American Red Cross Association guidelines. CPR guidelines require the employee to perform CPR on a firm, flat surface, which may be the floor, or a bed board placed under a client. Must be able to help clients evacuate or move clients to safe areas in case of a fire or tornado.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This position is in a residential care environment open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts, long hours, weekends, holidays and work during inclement weather may be required.
Travel:
Incumbents will be required to work at any location and be responsible for their own transportation to and from work and/or other locations.
Travel is primarily local transporting clients in agency vehicle as needed to appointments, activities, etc. Although infrequent, out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected to attend an annual conference. An occasional out-of-town client trip may be necessary. All staff must always drive safely and follow traffic laws.
Required Education and Experience for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA):
- State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Proficient computer, proofreading and editing skills.
- Preferred previous experience working in health care or with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
Additional Requirements:
- Completed assigned online Relias computer courses.
- All required training is current.
- Must have at least one (1) Year full-time experience.
- Must be 18 years old to drive agency vehicles and maintain a clean driving record and able to transport clients to activities in the community during day, evening, and weekend hours.
- Must be registered and pass the Family Care Safety Registry and maintain a satisfactory Family Care Safety record as a condition of my employment.
- Must obtain a valid Class E driver's license within 30 days of hire, if 18 years of age or older, and maintaining a satisfactory driving record is a condition of employment. Exceptions must be approved by the Executive Director.
- Must pass pre-employment/post offer drug screen and random drug screens.
- Must have access to reliable transportation.
