Cole Law Group, PC is a growing law firm located in the heart of Brentwood, Tennessee whose attorneys help families, individuals, and businesses large and small as they confront legal challenges. We represent clients in all Tennessee state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, EOIR Immigration Court, and the United States Supreme Court. Our firm is currently seeking to add a Paralegal to our team. In that role, empathy for our clients is extremely important, as is the ability to multitask, manage several cases, and communicate with clients. We serve a diverse population and interact with clients throughout the United States and the rest of the world. The applicant should be intelligent, hard-working, reliable, independent, enthusiastic, optimistic, and have a high attention to detail. The applicant will be required to work on a variety of matters that could include civil litigation, wills, contracts, and immigration. Training will be provided in any areas the applicant maybe unfamiliar with making this an ideal entry level position for someone interested in entering the legal field.
Qualifications: Applicant must have strong writing skills, very good attention to detail, the ability to demonstrate empathy with clients while also obtaining truthful responses to questions, good teamwork, the desire to grow the law firm through hard work, the ability to work independently, address case status inquiries, and work with attorneys for the growth of the law firm and the success of our clients. Oral and written is a plus but NOT required. 1-2 years of related work experience in the legal field is preferred. You must have a minimum of an Associate’s degree to be considered for this position.
Job-Duties:
- Meeting with and calling clients and prospective clients regarding case status, signatures, consultations, and the like
- Drafting applicant affidavits, declarations, and other supporting documents
- Prioritizing and balancing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Revising drafted documents when necessary
- Attending court hearings, ICE check-ins, and other appearances with attorneys when necessary
- Overtime often available
- Be periodically available to be "on call" as needed.
