JOB SUMMARY:
The General Manager of Dyna Mart and Sunset Mart stores is in charge of overseeing overall store operations, ensuring everything is running smoothly. The responsibilities mostly revolve around improving overall business functions, training area managers, setting goals and objectives, liaising with key suppliers and vendors, supervising the inventory, and monitoring the progress of sales. Furthermore, as a General Manager, it is essential to lead and encourage the staff to reach goals, all while implementing the company's policies and meeting all state and federal regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work with Area Managers to establish budgets, monitor expenses and ensure profitability of each location.
- Develop cohesive Brand strategy to drive the retail brand forward.
- Review monthly Financials and monitor Power BI reports for accuracy and anomalies.
- Conduct regular meetings with area managers to discuss performance issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Recognize big picture opportunities in the industry and recommend/implement new ideas.
- Act as liaison between headquarters and area managers.
- Stay up to date with company policies to ensure focus on increasing sales and building productive customer relations.
- Cultivate and grow a strong team of committed managers that will maintain profit margins and implement a business plan.
- Ensure that all projects are executed profitably and in compliance with standard business practices.
- Develop and implement operational procedures that are consistent across all stores.
- Oversee pricing policy.
- Work with accounting team to assure best auditing practices are in place.
- Oversee the set up and collection of vendor contracts.
- Apply innovative approaches and techniques to keep updated with competition.
- Review Velocity EHS with area managers quarterly to ensure inspections are completed and safety standards are being met.
- Work hand in hand with category manager(s) to assure smooth activity between operations and category management.
