Colfax Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to oversee the daily clinical and administrative operations of our nursing department. The CNO will ensure that each resident receives the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being, in accordance with their comprehensive plan of care. This role involves advocating for residents and staff, fostering high standards of resident care, and working collaboratively with the CEO as the clinical partner.
Essential Functions :
- Ensure the nursing department's structure supports clinical and administrative standards and goals.
- Implement systems, processes, and programs to achieve the facility's mission and strategic plan.
- Lead the nursing team to ensure quality outcomes.
- Oversee staffing based on census, acuity, and budget, and participate in recruitment and retention plans.
- Adhere to personnel policies and procedures, including timely performance evaluations.
- Promote effective working conditions and positive employee relations.
- Participate in budget discussions and staffing recommendations.
- Engage in quality assurance performance improvement processes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members as needed.
- Review prospective resident referrals to validate clinical services.
- Manage adverse events and establish plans to prevent reoccurrences.
- Assess nursing department education needs and set goals for providing more complex clinical services.
- Participate in committees or workgroups as requested by Administration.
- Communicate and collaborate with the Medical Director, attending and consulting physicians, and other departments.
- Support an open-door policy for addressing concerns.
- Participate in the selection, monitoring, evaluation, and tracking of clinically related equipment and supplies.
- Assume responsibilities and authority of operations in the CEO's short-term absence.
- Function as the MDS coordinator for MDS completion and transmission.
- Remain knowledgeable about residents and their conditions through daily rounds and clinical meetings.
- Promote and evaluate resident and family satisfaction with nursing services.
- Advocate for smooth transitions of care through effective communication and discharge planning.
- Promote an environment where residents' rights are protected and free from abuse and neglect.
- Participate in employee recognition programs.
- Conduct job responsibilities in accordance with the Company's Code of Conduct, policies, procedures, and applicable laws and standards.
