Colfax Youth Activity Coordinator
Job Description:
The Youth Activity Coordinator must be passionate and motivated to lead successful sports programs and activities in Colfax. Sports programming is expected to be managed on a high level of coordination, communication and adapt to the changing needs of the members and trends in the field. Ensure the promotion of sports programming growth, safety, member satisfaction and member retention through sports program participation and facility excellence.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provides overall management of youth activities within the Colfax-Mingo district, including, but not limited to: soccer, football, volleyball, boys and girls basketball, baseball, softball, wrestling, track and field, golf, Colfax swim team
- Works collaboratively with school district coaches to ensure alignment between youth and school district activities.
- Creates and manages sign up forms for youth activities.
- Identifies numbers of teams and coaches needed for each activity based on sign-up numbers.
- Manages revenue producing activities, including seeking, securing, and administering outside funding. Work involves establishing fees and monitoring collections as needed.
- Work with coaches to identify practice times. Coordinates field and gym schedules as needed with school officials.
- Coordinates schedules for practice times.
- Determines and implements a communication tool for communication between coaches and families.
- Identifies and coordinates volunteers and officials.
- Develops and implements innovative partnerships and services.
- Provides strategic leadership of youth activities to promote the development and implementation of recreation best practices that fully supports the current and future needs of the community.
- Thoughtfully plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and evaluates the activities of youth activities, including actively managing and monitoring the performance of coaches.
- Surveys parents postseason to gather feedback and share with coaches.
- Assists with equipment inventory, storage, distribution and returns.
- Negotiates and meets deadlines and prioritizes issues, identifying which issues require immediate attention and taking effective and appropriate action based on that determination.
Duration of position: November 2024-June 2025 (continuation depending on funding)
Salary: $8,000
Hours: Approximately 250 hours between November and June
Position will be employed by the City of Colfax, but under the direction of Colfax-Mingo CSD.
