This type of appointment is not approved to work more than 999 hours per year for all positions combined. Should incumbents work more than a total of 999 hours in a year the appointment may not continue beyond one year of service. Requirements
| Professional Experience/ Qualifications | The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of horticultural best management practices and landscape maintenance techniques, along with proficiency in plant identification, health and cultural requirements, and the ability to recognize weeds and invasive species. You should be skilled in operating a variety of landscape tools and power equipment, such as pickup trucks, small tractors, mowers, string trimmers, and hand tools. Basic computer skills in Gmail, Microsoft Word, and Excel are also required and can be trained. A proactive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to take ownership of garden and landscape beds are essential. You must be able to problem-solve and prioritize tasks effectively, while demonstrating effective customer service, communication, and collaboration skills. The ability to work independently or within a team is important, along with maintaining a professional and respectful attitude in a diverse campus environment with students, faculty, staff, and visitors. A current valid driver's license, in accordance with University's Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Use Policy, is required. |
