Job Title: Test Engineer
Locations: Chicago
Pay Range: $55 - $60/hr.
Duration: 12-18 Months (Potential for Full-Time Conversion)
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Test Engineer to join our team. This role requires someone who can quickly jump in and contribute to security testing, database testing, and automation efforts. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and ready to make an immediate impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in an Agile environment, participating in ceremonies and understanding artifacts
- Collaborate with business partners and developers to clarify requirements
- Document process flows, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies
- Gather and catalog functional, non-functional, and technical requirements
- Provide subject matter expertise and support scope/requirement decisions
- Analyze existing capabilities, identify gaps and opportunities
- Work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in security testing
- Strong understanding of Kafka
- Proficiency in Web Services testing
- Hands-on experience with database testing (SQL skills)
- Knowledge of Scrum or other Agile methodologies
- Experience using JIRA and qTest (or any test management tool)
- Ability to create use cases for performance and automation testing
- Strong communication skills
- Hands-on experience with automation testing using Cypress
- Comfortable working with JavaScript
