Position : Automation Tester / Scripting Engineer
Duration : 12 months
Location : Chicago, IL
Payrange : $60-66 / hr
Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Automation Tester with a strong focus on scripting and test automation in a multi-platform environment (Linux, Mac, and Windows).
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PowerShell, Pester, Playwright, and other automation frameworks.
This role requires a passion for breaking systems through automation and performance testing, while actively participating in unit tests and code reviews.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop and maintain automated test scripts using PowerShell, Pester, Playwright, and other frameworks.
Write and execute performance tests using tools like JMeter and LoadRunner, especially for licensing engines.
Perform testing across Linux, Mac, and Windows environments.
Collaborate with developers to ensure smooth integration of test scripts into the overall development cycle.
Participate in code reviews, focusing on automated tests and system tests.
Track and report test results and defects using tools like TestRail or Zephyr.
Continuously improve test scripts, automation processes, and testing strategies
Required Skills & Experience :
Strong experience with PowerShell, Pester, and Playwright for test automation.
Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter and LoadRunner.
Solid understanding of Linux, Mac, and Windows environments, with a focus on writing automation scripts for all three.
Experience with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr).
Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.
Previous involvement in code reviews for automated test scripts and collaborating with developers.
A mindset of continuous improvement and "breaking things" to test systems thoroughly.
