Position Details : Industry - Banking and Financial Title - Cybersecurity Instructional Designer Duration - 12 months Location - Chicago, IL Pay - $70 / hour to $80 / hour Job Description : Lead the end-to-end design of cybersecurity educational content, develop playbook documentation, and manage executive-level communications related to cybersecurity initiatives. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud, risk management, and executive teams to ensure clear messaging, effective training, and well-documented security procedures. Key Responsibilities : Cybersecurity Training & Educational Content Development : End-to-end design and development of cybersecurity training programs for employees at all levels. Create engaging e-learning modules, instructor-led training, phishing simulations, and interactive workshops to promote security awareness. Utilize PowerPoint and other multimedia tools to craft compelling presentations that simplify complex security concepts. Ensure cybersecurity training aligns with industry best practices, compliance regulations, and evolving threat landscapes. Playbook Documentation & Security Procedures : Develop and maintain detailed cybersecurity playbooks, incident response guides, and best practice documentation to enhance preparedness. Create step-by-step security action plans for handling incidents, data breaches, and compliance audits. Standardize security policies and procedures to ensure clarity, accessibility, and usability for both technical and non-technical employees. Executive Communications & Stakeholder Engagement : Serve as a point of contact for cybersecurity-related executive communications, ensuring leadership is informed of security initiatives, risks, and compliance efforts. Develop high-impact PowerPoint presentations, reports, and executive briefings on cybersecurity trends, training progress, and security initiatives. Craft clear and concise messaging for company-wide security alerts, policy updates, and training rollouts. Work closely with legal, compliance, and HR teams to ensure cybersecurity messaging aligns with regulatory requirements and corporate policies. Required Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Cybersecurity, Communications, or Project Management. Experience in cybersecurity training, documentation, and executive communications. Strong executive presence with the ability to engage and influence leadership and stakeholders. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clear, concise, and strategic messaging. Expertise in PowerPoint tools to create high-quality presentations and training materials. Preferred Qualifications : Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, threat mitigation, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO 27001). Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security, or Certified Technical Trainer (CTT). Experience with LMS platforms, e-learning tools, and cybersecurity awareness programs. Familiarity with cybersecurity policies, incident response, and risk management frameworks.
