Mechanical Assembler
Location: Everett, WA
Hours: M-F 8-5
Length: 3 month contract (extension/conversion possibility based on performance)
Job Summary:
The position of Mechanical Assembler is a very important and highly responsible position within the company and, as such, demands a very high degree of dedication, flexibility, sound judgment, and reliability. The performance of and the decisions made greatly affect performance of those assigned to the program, the success of the program, as well as the profitability of the company and our relationships with our customers.
Qualifications
Skills & Abilities:
- Must be highly organized, thorough, and possess keenness to detail and accuracy.
- Utilization of information to develop acceptance of change and working to influence other regions to adopt new practices.
- Ability to assimilate and prioritize complex information and provide analysis to support schedule changes whilst adhering to service level targets.
Education/Experience:
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
- Minimum 2 years working experience in a related aerospace industry or other electro mechanical machinery and systems.
- If applicable, must be forklift or overhead crane certified and be able use a variety of tools and equipment for assembly.
- HS Diploma or GED
Job Specific Functions/Performance Expectations
- Flexible to travel, be willing to spend an approximate equal amount of time at the facility and at the customer’s location.
- Ability to correctly interpret assembly instructions, blue prints specifications and diagrams. Familiar with lean manufacturing process, hand tools and materials, able to positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements. Verifies specifications by measuring completed components.
- Complies with quality procedures, insures proper use of equipment, and reports to manager any anomalies that could prevent project execution
- Must function effectively in a diverse working environment; Ability to effectively work without conflict with other departments, coworkers, management, and customer and supplier representatives.
- Must be able to work, at the company or customer facilities, in excess of eight hours per day or 40 hours per week on a second shift and/or weekends if necessary. Occasionally, hours worked maybe up to 12 per day or as much as 72 per week.
- Sufficiently mobile to conduct business throughout company and customer facilities, including aircraft final assembly tooling and facilities. Must be able to travel, by car and air, extensively if necessary.
- Must possess good creative, analytical and deductive reasoning abilities and memory skills. Must be highly organized, thorough, and possess and practice good record keeping skills.
- Understands and anticipates the customer needs both internally and externally.
