Job Description :
This is a Product Manager position focused on developing a strategic roadmap for the Data Platform that underlies the clinical surveillance products offered by Clinical Surveillance and Compliance business.
This position will collaborate with the VP of Product Management and the Portfolio Product Managers to create strategic direction for the data platform, prioritize projects for enhancements to the data platform, and execute those projects. The data platform encompasses the system components that ingest data from US health systems, standardizes and normalizes the data to prepare for processing, enriches the data with 3rd party reference content and computations, and processes the data in the ways that are necessary for the use cases supported by the surveillance products.
This is a technical product management function, and it requires in depth knowledge of FHIR, HL7, and EDI as data acquisition and ingestion approaches.
Data enrichment is accomplished through the application of industry standard 3rd party reference data and via bespoke computations that may include machine learning-derived models and GenAI processing.
The Product Manager will work under the direction of the VP Product Management, and in close collaboration with Portfolio Product Managers to execute market research on available solutions to data acquisition challenges, prioritize data-related projects, and maintain a roadmap of prioritized projects.
The Product Manager will provide input on investment case for product investment, and present proposed investments to stakeholders for project approval in accordance with CSC's capital management processes.
The Product Manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders, product development and advanced technology teams to develop detailed product requirements, will lead product analysts who turn requirements into development stories, and plan delivery to meet iteration and release timelines. Product development on the data platform utilizes Agile Scrum development methodologies with two-week sprint cycles.
This role is responsible for maintaining a prioritized product backlog with appropriate balance between new feature development stories, technology tasks, and bugs to ensure continuous delivery of product improvements.
This is a high-profile high-impact position with regular exposure to customers and senior business unit leadership, and the Product Manager must be able to create well considered plans and present effectively to an executive audience.
Work under the direction of the VP Product Management and in collaboration with Portfolio Product Managers to create, prioritize, and maintain a rolling 12-month product roadmap, ensuring that it delivers maximum business value over time
Regularly meet with Portfolio Product Managers to review and understand changes that may be necessary in data ingestion or processing to support new application features being prioritized by Portfolio Product teams
Regularly review feature requests submitted by customers and internal stakeholders and use these as input to roadmap priorities
Collaborate with Customer Support and Customer Success teams and ensure bugs are prioritized into roadmap work as appropriate, and to maintain communication on status of known issues so customer communication can be accurate and responsive
Maintain awareness of changes to technical capabilities in the data acquisition and processing fields to ensure the product takes advantage of novel data acquisition approaches as they become real
Collaborate with Product Development on new data ingestion and and data processing projects to review required development, resources, expenses and timelines in order to properly reflect effort and expense in roadmap projects
Assess roadmap candidates for their business value, potential risks, actual cost and opportunity costs.
Education :
A bachelor of science (BS) or bachelor of arts degree (BA) or equivalent is desired.
Experience :
At least 5 years of product delivery experience in health IT, acute care hospital clinical setting, or managing systems that integrate with the clinical workflow in various electronic health record systems
At least 5 years of direct experience working in healthcare interoperability with clinical or billing data using FHIR, HL7 or EDI formats
At least 5 years of direct experience managing a product lifecycle, developing and maintaining the roadmap, creating the business case for new development, and managing a prioritized backlog for product development
Experience working with clinical subject matter experts to elicit detailed product requirements in a healthcare setting
Experience aligning product investment with overall company strategy and presenting new ideas to executive audiences and all level of internal stakeholders
Experience building in Agile Scrum software development process, including experience decomposing large product enhancements into small units of work with requirements detailed as acceptance criteria and daily close interaction with product analysts and delivery teams
Experience with requirements management and project management required to deliver complex projects.
Background and / or education in the healthcare industry with specific knowledge of hospital information technology preferred.
