What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safe Passage Supervisor position at Collaborative Solutions for Communities?
The purpose of Safe Passage is to reduce incidences of gun violence in Washington DCs most afflicted neighborhoods. We accomplish this objective through a multi-faceted approach that includes law enforcement, intervention, and prevention strategies.
Safe Passage is primarily a partnership with residents and the school leaders of the Kenilworth, Lincoln Heights, and Richardson Dwelling neighborhoods, the US Attorneys Office, DC Office of Justice Grants Administration, DC government agencies, the officers and Command staff of the Metropolitan Police Department Sixth District Police Service Areas 601, 602, and 608, and Collaborative Solutions for Communities (CSC).
ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES
Candidate shall possess the following skill sets and fulfill the responsibilities listed, but not limited to those below:
- Community relation management knowledge of a local communitys needs and the ability to interview others to get needed information are essential qualities
- Conflict resolution responsible for identifying the root cause of disputes and using negation tactics to encourage resolution
- Public speaking strong public speaking skills to present at public and private meetings
- Marketing promotional skills are essential for community liaisons to effectively share their organizations message with a local community
- Interpersonal skills a critical duty of community liaisons is building trusting and effective partnerships to facilitate engagement and outreach. To do this, they must be able to quickly relate with many different types of people
- Administrative skills it is common for community liaisons to perform general administrative duties as assigned
- Writing skills creating documentation and written reports is common for community liaison
Education: High school diploma or GED and at least two years of experience in community-based social services or related field such as child development, family relations, and/or behavioral health, or college degree with one year of experience in community-based social services or related field.
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to pass a drug and TB testing, Metropolitan Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation background check and Child Protective Services clearance. Covid vaccination required.
